Well, that's interesting, because the guitar has already been modded (by the previous owner): he's added a 2nd string tree, recessed string ferrules (very nice), added a tone control and moved the selector switch to the upper bout. Oh and an MIA bridge. All this is PERFECT for me, but it can't be returned to stock at this point. I do think it's kind of unique in Cabronita world- the upper bout switch is something alot of people dig.
I also put an MIA bridge on mine. The original rattled and sounded bad

I liked my Cabronita with HS Filtertrons a lot. That said, I thought I wanted it more versatile. So I ordered a concentric volume/tone wiring harness from Tribute Guitarworks on eBay. The workmanship and quality of components is excellent. It incorporates 500k pots and an .001uf cap/150k ohm resistor high pass filter/treble bleed. Ordered a set of chrome concentric knobs, so all told I have about $100.00 into it. Replaced the Emerson harness with this and this has allowed this guitar to reach into a very broad range of tones in all three switch positions. I mean it transformed the guitar. I can still reach into full-on Filtertron land, but if one wants to warm it up or have it talk like a ”woman”, it is all in there. Very good upgrade and completely reversible.

Mine is MIM, and like others in this thread I would really hesitate hacking up a Cab in an attempt to turn it into something else…for all the reasons cited it may not turn out well.
