I'd highly recommend that you head over to the Build Your Own Clone forum, and post about your issues here: Build Your Own Clone Message Board: Op amp based Distortions, fuzzes and overdrives. The moderators there are really helpful, and any bad/missing parts are usually made good with minimal fuss. I've built several of their kits, and only ever had an issue with one (a bad opamp in a FET Preamp kit), and the replacement was shipped free of charge.

One thing I will mention is that circuits with a charge pump (like the Silver Pony 2) are often more finicky about power supplies than others -- is the whine still present if you power it with a battery?

Thanks for the info; I didn’t even think of their forum, I can check that out. Did some more tinkering and swapped the footswitch and the boost channel is now working! (And sounding great!!)
Also, I feel like an idiot but I found the indicator leds on my workbench, they were indeed included. So now my only issue is the whining on that one amp. Which, as you suggested, could be the power supply maybe. I’ll fire it up later on that amp and see if the new switch did anything (I don’t think it will, but who knows) and try a different wall pack.

Thanks to you and all the other commenters for the help/suggestions!

Just an update for anyone following this… looks like they oscillation problem was related to the power supply. Since I got the boost channel working, I put the pedal on a board with some other stuff and a power supply brick. No more whining and the boost switch seems to work. Think I’m in business!
