I don't have one to share with you. I know there are exemplars scattered among threads, but can we stack a bunch on this thread?

This is a color that's, imo absolutely gorgeous, but not very common on teles.

Pics all look like a purple or pinky purple mauve to me when googling.

This one looks more burgundy to me.

The Jazzmaster pic is how BM looked when new in the 60's. Your pic is that color because the clear top coat has yellowed and given it that hue, which happens to a lot of Fender original custom colors on old guitars with a clear nitro top coat.

That looks like a new guitar with noiseless pickups. They might have matched the aged burgundy color? I have seen a few burgundy strats that color new in the store and also what they call faded burgundy which is lighter but not purple looking.

Yes, they all look like a shade of purple, but it was an actual color that was used by Olsdsmoble in 1959, and then in early '60s by Fender as a custom color.

I'm thinking about doing it. I have a pristine tele body, a can of Reranch Burgundy Mist, and bunch of other parts.

th-5.jpeg.jpg I misspoke. I meant that the Jag pic was the one that looked like BM did when new in the 60's. The Jazzmaster pic was the sparkle one.

Really - reproducing colours in digital media can result in big shifts in chromatics and shade. Even those original colour charts photographed and reproduced in 3-colour printing would be different.

Also offset colours, produced by paint companies to translate say nitro into acrylic - they can be close or poles apart and the paint itself vary a lot based on undercoat, thickness of coats, viscosity/flow improvers in the paint.

Also - Fender may have used the Du Pont colour chips in their catalogue, but not always Du Pont paint - could be whoever had stocks orvess closer lf painting a new guitar it didn't matter. Any painter will tell you, buy Ditzlers or brand of the same paint formulated by someone else, could be way different in appearance reverse engineered off a finished car.

That's all very true, add on top of that ease of image editing in our digital age, and you have a real mess. However, Fender has been making and still makes guitars that they call Burgundy Mist. This is a call for those guitars, rather than the ones that are loosely interpreted as "burgundy" colored.

    I’d call that color Magenta.
Some of the old Hot Wheels car toys of my childhood were that color.
    It is indeed cool!

My first Fender Strat, in early 90's, was supposedly Burgandy Mist Metallic....closer to this example. Don't know the model, but it was MIJ, two exposed humbuckers, black bridge w/ fine tuners, and locking nut. Neck was finished black, with matching headstock. I eventually changed it to a conventional three pick-up Strat format, with a "normal" Strat bridge, shortly before it was stolen in a home burglary. (in 1994) :(

Its a nice color. Sounds like it might have been a contemporary strat?
My first real strat was a mij contemporary strat too. I think it was an 85 model? I got it used and about 1 or 2 yeas old. Three tone sunburst nicer than most I've seen. System 1 locking trem, nut. 3 single coils but I routed it and installed a first run JB humbucker. Great guitars, my best strat to date but I sold it like a fool in 04. Bummer yours got stolen.

The only pic I've got of it, a girlfriend at the time snapped this pic in around 87?
    pic of youth (2).jpg

Yours might have been a model after mine, an e series 87 on to early 90's
Mine was made in 84-85 and looked the same as the burst pic below before I installed a humbucker in the bridge. Very similar guitars.

Google??? My best friend! But as I said above, a lot of "close enough" colors get called Burgundy Mist. I was interested in examples of actual Fender Tele's, since Fender is the first guitar maker to use this color, sourced from same paint makers that supplied car industry.

Here are the first hits Google gave me. The ones marked with a blue X are not by Fender, a few look pretty close regardless, and a few not even close. I was hoping to get some TGP expertise on this.:)

I don't have a photo, but I was once offered a Custom Shop double-bound '60s Custom Tele in Burgundy Mist Metallic. It was lovely to play, with a particularly nice neck. My visual memory of the shade is that it seemed a tiny touch lighter "in real life" than in some of these pictures, but nice as the instrument was, the colour wasn't really "me", so rightly or wrongly I let it go.
