Played guitar intermittently from age 16 to now (59). Own a Gibson, a Taylor, a PRS, a Strat - never had a Tele. Decided to build one. I've already read many of the TDPRI threads, so I thought it was well and good time to join. I have the neck and the rest of the bits are on the way!

Welcome! I'm sure this will be a very satisfying project.

Lots of knowledgeable people on here if you have questions.

Just remember, free advice (including mine) is worth every penny.

Welcome and good luck! Like you, I had no prior experience in building but thanks to the good folks out here, they helped me make it possible. Best advice I can give is - Take your time, go slow, and pay close attn to detail... especially drilling the neck bolt holes! Buy quality parts, don't skimp over a few bucks etc. Also get a good set of nut files if you don't have em already. They're not cheap, but worth every penny in the long run IMO. It took me about 4 months and 100+ hrs of work, but I found the process very meditative and I ended up with what is now my #1 guitar, and I gig with her weekly! Oh yeah... we LOVE progress pics around here so please post pics as you go through your build process ;) Congrats on taking the plunge!

I let a pro cut my nut because I’m a terror with files. But good luck and have fun. And if it costs less than a regular Tele you’re not doing it right, haha. Post pics.
