The spate of recent threads about Noventas has rekindled my interest in these guitars. Can't see paying a grand for one though.

I've had this swamp ash blank I've been saving for a '54 Strat hardtail build, but I'll use it here.

Seems a shame to paint it black, but I'm going to.
I ordered a Warmoth 24.75"scale neck about three weeks ago (just because it was my birthday).
Last night I ordered a Lollar P-90 Staple.
Also, the Wilkerson half bridge and some dark brown pickguard material.
We'll see how this all comes together...

Parts started arriving today.
Still hoping to find an accurate pickguard to copy.
I wanted to get either a Callahan or Glendale half bridge, but apparently they don't offer them, so Wilkinson it is.
The Lollar P-90 measures in at 15.3K. Can't wait to hear this one.

I still haven't cut out the body yet. I'm thinking of taking a wellness day tomorrow and doing it then.

Yes!

Definitely a shame to paint that blank black - it's a nice one!

One P-90, so I'm guessing it will be a Noventa Tele?

I like my Tele with the Gibson scale neck - it's a real nice player ;)

.
Google being my friend, I like the hardtail Strat version 😁, but hey, viva la difference'

You want a black opaque guitar.....then paint it black. It's not "The Tree" for crying out loud :) Now that could be a shame to paint, but do what you want with what you want...that's my vote.

the tree, it figures Slash has a guitar made from the tree, too bad it doesn't have an Anaconda Burst top.

I've spent the morning looking for a pickguard to use as a template to make my own. Called Fender, WD, Pickguardian and Quickguard. Maybe one will return my call.
I also looked at all the usual sales sites for one.
Apparently Noventas really do fly mostly under the radar.

seems logical to put a single p-90 on a tele,
a lot like a les paul jr.
the obvious differences make playing each feel different,
but the sound is going to happen from the pickup.
gibson scale length, CHECK!
that's what i use...

WD Music called me back but they have no template for a Noventa. They were hoping I did.
So, I ordered this

I didn't want to do it, but I'll make a pattern then put it all back on eBay.
It's beginning t to feel that I'm doing everything the hard way.

Ya think? BTW, listen to a vintage Guild S50 Jetstar, you'll blow this place up and put that pickup in the middle 🤣

I've always wanted to build a one pickup guitar that the pickup could slide all the way from the neck to the bridge and anywhere in between. Some kind of rail mount thing. Anyway, I never put much thought into the mechanics of it.

Whoever it was that made the plexiglass bass did that IIRC 🤔
