Have you ever posted anything positive?
I thought the OP was cordial enough, and respectful.
Nobody has been successful with Rock and Roll in a long time.
There are a number of reasons, and if it were easy then everyone would still be doing it.
The lack of talent has been noted for a long time.
It's hard to even survive in the digital age.
I don't know what it's going to take.

I'd say this group from Romania has pretty-well done the work for me, preparing a setlist, and my hat is off to them.
I'm sorry you don't like them.
Reading her bio, The vocalist had a dream since she was eight years old, and I like to see people like her succeed.

You know this is an electric guitar forum. Do I need to explain that instrument created Rock.
You know Orchestral music of dead people from the 1700's still pulls a better crowd than you.

Maybe if you want to troll so hard next time join a Ableton group and start a thread on shortcuts you seem to be searching for something in your life.
now I see.
They have a gofundme account.
I think they're going to run into copyright issues.
I wish them the best.

Here's what mine sounds like.
I'm going to do a tribute to Led Zep.
Do you like it?

They're certainly more respectful.
I'm good with that.
Maybe if you want to troll so hard next time joint a Ableton group and start a thread on shortcuts you seem to be searching for something in your life.

Searching for talent and not finding.
Just a lot of negative energy.

Less people go home with covid.
Your business model needs some work, dude.
I get the sense that maybe you aren't making it, like maybe I smell some blood.
Maybe you're venting your own frustration.
I think everyone is pretty frustrated with music in general.
Some things have really really changed.
There isn't much that seems to work anymore unless you're doing it for free.
That's why the talent is gone.

Just going on your song choices of "All Right Now" and "We're an American Band" I would submit .....

For You Manfred Manns Earth Band

Never Been Any Reason Head East

Bus Rider The Guess Who

Walk Away The James Gang

No Time The Guess Who

Some good ideas in there.
I saw Guess Who in Concert

I forgot all about Head East.
I added them to the rock repertoire page.
Thanks

not bad. I've thought about those.
And I do appreciate it. Please don't take this as cristicism.

I think the younger crowd wants the basic rock sound a little more, without a whole lot of effects (other than over-drive, chorus, delay, and reverb), or a wangfest guitar solo that goes on for 5 minutes.

I ruled out Skynyrd because it requires more guitar power than I have, and goes too long on the solos.

Tom Petty's music is good, but the song selection is macabre.
I don't want songs about drugs, dying, etc.

Hollies Long Cool Woman has a great opening, but the part about working for the FBI aint so cool anymore.

Please don't get me wrong. I really do appreciate your inputs.

Let me please tell you what's out:
Hendrix -- nobody can measure up to him. Over-reliance on the wah pedal is outdated.
Metal -- the young people don't go for shred.
Van Halen for the same reason.
Songs about sleeze-bags -- like Mississippi Queen -- it's a great song, but just not the image I want to project.
Bread -- good music but it's too outdated
Bad Finger -- same
Foghat -- I'm avoiding slide guitar
Beetles -- too sophisticated
Stones -- out of date
Doobie Brothers -- great music, but maybe a little too pop.
Nugent -- just no.

Younger than what? 80?
I would leave out a lot of this stuff too, because I don't like classic rock. But do you?
Anyway, I do like tom petty, and the stones. The stones are less "outdated" than the concept of classic rock in general. The last three words of your post make perfect sense, but the rest not so much.

Maybe you're over-reacting here.
I've treated you nicely enough.
okay so you're songs didn't make the setlist I'm looking for.
Maybe my song selections don't make yours either.
What if everybody played just alike?
I'd get kind of bored with it myself.
But you get all flustered up for some reason.
Is that really called for?
