    Hey tele and guitar lovers. Time for another build. This time a request from a friend who wants to showcase this one in an upcoming film clip.

    Gibson explorer shape
    Queensland maple body and neck, set neck at 3 degrees. Cypress fretboard.

    That's a great looks my guitar! Your cypress must be much harder than ours here, where it's actually a softwood.

    I like the look of a pale fretboard, not something you see very often.

    Thanks LP. Aussie cypress is used for flooring here and can be pretty hard and durable. I've made two fingerboards and they play smooth and well. The light fretboard was my friend's request.

    American southern cypress has a Janka hardness of 570, where as the Australian has one of 1375. It's quite different to your typical conifer/ cypress.

    In comparison, Rosewood is 1780
