That's funny because on a recent family zoom call (lot's of people) one of my sisters wanted to start off with each of naming our favorite Springsteen song. I stated the very first song on his very first album. That kind of surprised everyone, but it is truthful on my part.

I like Bruce. I'm not wild about him. There's the E street band stuff, which is a little schticky for me. But then there's his acoustic stuff. I had never given him much of a chance but Tom Joad and Devils and Dust are truly great albums. His older acoustic stuff is good but not to as good as those two. Also, his broadway show is blah.

Anybody else notice that he did all his lead playing "in the ashtray", right on top of, and sometimes even behind, the bridge pickup? Maybe it's something that lots of guys do, but I've never noticed. Just jumped out at me when I was watching this weekend.

I have a MapleGlo Ric, and immediately regretted it and wished it was FireGlo after I ordered it.

So... I did what any TDPRI guy would do: I bought a FireGlo too.

Bruce played well, just not my thing.

Not bad. Not sure why they need 3 electrics and and an acoustic guitar though.

Yes! I'd like to find a dumpster to throw it into. Fugliest guitars ever made.

Yeah, is it me or is Bruce's smile saying: "for now I'm going to pretend having fun but when this is over I'm going to kick the butt of the person responsible for the stage sound"

" Look son , someone on tv pretending to be a rock band " !

Im sorry , but that is the vibe I get.....Lofgren hardly strumming with his thumb , but still turning around and" playing" up towards the drummer.
LS trying hard to look sinister and making all kinds of moves with a guitar that cant be heard........And Wifey malkng stupid " moves " with the acoustic..

I got The River on vinyl for my 17th birthday , and loved it to bits....
Sorry , but this " performance " makes me depressed and sad.

Did not watch the show, but in the video posted here, thought he sounded fine to me. Not really a fan and did not know either song. Lots of guitar players in that band though. Eight people total.

I said the same thing. Can’t really distinguish any of them in the mix either.

Nebraska is my fave Bruce album...most people hate it when you say that because...no E Street Band on it

Recorded on 4 track by himself, originally as ideas for the band, but released with very little polish.

Hearing Atlantic City especially always gets me, pared back perfection

Least fave Bruce album: Born In The USA

To all the SNL haters, when youve spent your entire lives crafting a legacy that will outlive you, and still doing 3 hours shows at 70+, come back to me

I’ve never been a huge fan, but I’ve always appreciated Bruce’s song writing and honest approach. Of the two, I liked the 2nd song “Ghosts” best. The consensus amoung my hard-core Bruce fan friends seems to be that is his best effort since “The Rising”.
