Nice little tribute to Bon Scott:

    Lotsa guitars on this one.

Speaking of Bon, who knew he could play the recorder or whistle or pan flute or whatever this is:

    Cheers,
    Geoff

Damn you beat me to it!
How come he keeps getting cooler as he gets older?
    How come I don't?

    A for effort.

    Kinda creaky though.

Still out there beatin' it at 62 or however the hell old he is.

I love tons of Springsteen but that "in concert wash of sound" from his band I've never liked - especially now that there's 37 people on stage.

I know he's got another great record in him but that latest ain't it.

Did like that fan "Bruce & I" documentary though.

I'm not sure why Bruce and Tom are playing way up the neck and capoed. I've always played this down in cowboy chord country.

Anyhow, it was fun. I liked the bit where we had four diff lead players in quick succession.

    Cheers,
    Geoff

Yeah...I agree. It makes the 3rd stand out too much. An A power chord sounds more full and "rawkier". Guess since they're playing in Ab that's why they're capoed.

Bruce is cool! I wish he would play with less people though. Not a fan of the wall of mush, I hope it sounds better in real life. Id love to see just him, a bass player and drummer, and maybe Silvio on his rick.

who knew Bon was Amish?

Old Bon - how about old Bruce ? (you guys got me thinking about Bruce)

I'm sure most have heard this but for those that haven't...

1970, Bruce lead voc/gtr drag it to about 1:50

It's Bruce. It's Highway to Hell. I would have been pretty stoked if I'd been in that crowd.

    Cool post.

I'm from Jersey and I'm a heretic. I've always considered Springsteen way over-hyped and his music way over-done. This song proves it. Compared to the original it's bloated, too long and poorly sung.

    Long live The Smithereens!

Four guitars...maybe better to have a couple capo'd up so they are not all playing the same position? A common approach in multi-guitar bands. Or even duos.

The huge band is great live, but I too am tiring of it.
I'd like to see him strip it back down, go on tour with just the essentials band, similar to the 90s "Other Band" lineup. Maybe keep Roy, Gary, and and Jake, but get a fresh young drummer and one hot and hungry guitarist and burn it up.

I can see where you are coming from but I think with the mix of styles he now plays and the mix of material on recent albums it's unlikely.

Well, I thought that the addition of Tom Morello was great

I like Morello too. And Nils. Bruce is a heck of a guitar player also. But with such a large band, none of them really get to cut loose for more than a couple of solos over the course of a show. Hence my wish for a more streamlined unit. Probably won't happen tho.
