I've had this probably 80's Japanese or Korean Strat copy sitting in the attic for years. I kinda felt sorry for it and decided to give it a new life with a minimal investment. Neck is in a decent condition, I'll have to cut a new nut, do a Tru oil or shellac refinish, see if frets have enough meat to be leveled and recrowned. I'll need new AlNiCo polepieces, cause these are not magnetic, and also wind the pups. Bridge and tremolo are gonna stay, just don't know if I should strip the (chrome?) layer and expose the clean brass in a combo with the new looking finish or leave all metal parts rusty and try some slightly worn look. I was thinking Olympic, Daphne or Surf in nitro for a finish but I'm not quite sure if any of those. What do you guys think? I'm open for all, even unconventional ideas.
