For one reason or another I refuse to watch “British Guitarist’s” videos. So who’s the guitarist he’s listening to?

Pfffft... He's fast but Eugene Martone would

Someone said on a forum that it is not his real hair, if it is he seems to have about 3 times the average amount, which is cool and it can happen i have seen about a few like that.

He is not fastest clean player though, a think Shawn Lane was clocked at just over 19 nps with legato, and 18 nps with alternate picking. I dont thing it takes hour of practice is just an inborn thing, but some play cleaner than others depending on their nature to get the sound more crisp, and of course legato fast is suppose to slur or drag a tad for a more continuous effect.

I personally think fast licks can add spice if used sparingly, although i think Speed Kills is not bad and was his best instrumental.

There’s a guy in a local band that plays every solo like that, including in a song like Wagon Wheel. The band becomes unlistenable.

@Nick Fanis - vid #3 = awesome. If a Brit watched that, their head would melt.

What's Interesting is that for almost 40 years, steve vai has had the same facial expressions on upbends, and the same quasi surprised look on vibratos.

He and Satriani are actually aware of the fact that the guitar is being played in a song, which is why it always seems to sound better than the "firehose of notes" stuff.

I've seen ads for a bunch of these "British guitarist reacts to ..." videos. Why should a give a $#!+ what he thinks?

An old bull and a young bull are on top of a hill watching a herd of cows.

The young bull says to the old one: "Let's run down and boff one of those cows."

The old bull replies: Let's walk down and boff them all."

Shawn Lane was, at least, as fast, but was far more musical, and listenable. Allan Holdsworth was fast, but in service of the music. I feel the same way about this guy as I do about 'speed painting' people. As an artist, I feel that there are some people who do their artwork as spectacle, rather than to produce a great piece of work. The act of making it is more performance art than it is to make a work of art.

That’s why (and as an English guitarist myself) I never watch his videos. So I still don’t know which guitarist he’s ‘reacting’ to in this one.

Did I just wake up back in the 80's? Wasn't that great first time around.
