There have been lots of them, and with the collective knowledge of forum members here maybe we can all learn something from one another about music movements from different locations around the globe.

I don't know what it might have been called, but I do dig a period of independent rock in the 80's from New Zealand, all which I have heard under the label Flying Nun Records. Bands like The Clean, 3ds, Tall Dwarfs. Maybe the kiwi rockers can chime in on that period of music. This stuff won't be for everyone, but for those who have an ear for independent rock, early punk, and the ilk, it was a great period of music.

And I'm sure there is tons of history that we could learn from one another on music movements that we each already know something about.
