    Building a partscaster la cabronita.
I was hoping to use a vintage style chopped bridge.
Is it best to get Rutters la burrito or can using a cheaper fender plate, 4 screw mount bridge and cutting it work? As I understand the tv Jones filtertrons need a 2 1/6” string spaced bridge.
Just trying to figure out how to have the body drilled for. Regular American modern 3 bolt or If it’s cheaper to chop a vintage style and have it work with the spacing. Or what the best options are.
    Thanks

Signing on to thread. Someday I too will build a la cab with Bigsby and chopped bridge. I believe Rutters will sell you one drilled either for 4 hole or 3 hole.

Also wanted to comment that I doubt the 2 1/16 versus 2 1/8 string spacing over the bridge will make an audible difference with any pickup. That's 1/32 per side, a very tiny difference - I would go with what you prefer as a player. And nobody has shown me evidence that strings need to be directly over pole pieces anyhow - strat neck pickups haven't been lined up since 1954.

What body did you settle on?

haven’t yet actually. That’s part of this, seeing what options or what others have done. The bodies are easier to get with 3 bolt mounting, but so far the only bridge I find that fits 3 bolt and has 3 saddles (ash tray style) is Rutters which is over $100 (cdn). So was wondering if there is a cheaper bridge option going 4 bolt, but with the proper string spacing for filtertrons

You might want to check out armadillo guitars, they have a couple of really nice options. I just ordered one for a la cabronita build I am doing.
