Has anyone purchased this book and play along cd. I am looking for feedback on this since I will have to order it sight unseen. It is published by Cherry Lane and I have not any experience with any of their products.

If you want a good Brian Setzer lesson, get the Hot Licks videos he did. I got it close to 10 years ago and it still keeps giving. My friends ask to borrow it regularly. He runs through rock, rockabilly, jazz, soloing, fingerpicking, comping, chording, and the version of Sleepwalk he does is not to be missed. Not sure if it's on DVD yet.

Actually, Legenday Licks is great. Not only does it have songs TABbed for you, but shows you many of the scales & chords Brian uses. A very informative book that includes not only his style in his Stray Cats days, but also his style in the Brian Setzer Orchestra days. Both Legendary Licks & the Hot Licks DVD are great resources.

I wish Brian would do another hotlicks NOW!

By the way, the hot licks video is out on DVD now. They have it on Amazon. I just got it and I think it's awesome.

Its a pretty great book. If your looking to learn some Setzer, this is a great place to start. The Stray Cats stuff is the easiest and it gets harder with the orchestra stuff.

Nice CD because for most tracks, they have a full speed, and then a half speed track so you hear whats going on.

The tabs seem to be really great. I've seen a couple of published versions of "Rock This Town" and this one is the most accurate I've seen.

Heck, Sleepwalk alone is worth the price of admission. And the Stray Cats stuff is extremely fun to play.

Although the said book is great, you might also want to check out this resource:

(link removed)

go to the tabs sections and the are many many many Setzer/Stray Cats tabs. They are some of the best setzer tabs you'll ever find.
