Just curious what amps Brad favored when recording "Mud on the Tires" album. Of all his work, that album has my favorite tones (of his) on it. "Time Well Wasted" (RX ES?) isn't bad either, but I really like the warm, woody tone on "Mud."

Anybody have any idea? I saw an ad in a back issue of Vintage Guitar for Z amps that had a quote from Paisley, something like "the Maz IS my tone."

Thanks! Man, I totally forgot about the Z forums... haven't been there in awhile. I'll have to start frequenting them again...

I've heard that he didn't use the Mazerati much on that CD, but rather a Maz38 and the Prescription ES.

Later in February, recording notes from those sessions will be posted on Brad's website. Though I can tell you this much now:
The main amps were the Mazerati, 62 red AC 30, Maz 18, Z-28, and Brad's old 71 deluxe reverb. Zac

The ES RX was not out yet when we recorded "Mud on the Tires." That amp was built almost a year after we finished making the record. And don't feel bad, as you said in your post, you were only going on what you had been told. Zac
