I needed a small amp to take on vacations and decided to go with the Pignose. I had one before but it was the tweed model and I wanted a brown one so I sold it. I have loved these little amps ever since I first saw one on the movie Crossroads. I had to wait a few weeks for Sweetwater to get the brown one in stock as they only had the tweed. They also didn’t have the AC adapter in stock but they finally got them and I ordered one Friday. It will be here Tuesday. Who else love these little amps?

Yes!

They’re amazing and they sound so great.

I loved my Pignose until it died…(my daughter gutted it and turned it into a purse! 😎 She used a guitar strap as a purse strap…)

A replacement is pretty high on the GAS list; I don’t know why I haven’t already gotten a new one.

I want one, I just wish they cost less! ( and i would want a new one, w/adapter)

I get frustrated about this, as between the kinds of music I play, and my age, if anyone should have a Pignose, it's me!
But my gigging amps and my Micro Cube each cost less or equal to the $$ for a Pignose

* I should just bite the bullet, and get one; my S.S. starts next week, so...

I’ve had one for a long time and do like it. Used it at hunt camp & vacation rentals, and actually backed up a couple of acoustic players at a coffee shop gig. It added nice texture in that scenario.

I don’t know what they cost today but when I bought mine they weren’t a high ticket thing.

At Sweetwater they are like $150, and that does not include the adapter.
I know times have changed but that seems like a lot of money

This is what bugs me,

I got my ( gig life today...) current gig amps ( used, on CL) for $85 Vox Pathfinder, and $130 Fender Frontman ( that one, includes Emi speaker upgrade), both have plenty of power, Spring Reverb, and Pathfinder has Tremolo

( still want the Pignose, I need to get over it)

Yeh! I have exactly that one! I bought it in the 1980s in Denmark Street in London. What a place, a dozen shops, every one a music shop! The Pig came with a user manual, well a single a A5 sheet, telling me that it had a tone control. You open the case and adjust the opening until the required degree of trebleness ia achieved. :p

I've yet to find a power pack that doesn't induce mains hum, some are better than others, but I use batteries most of the time. These seem to last a quite a long time, the amp is not battery hungry.

I have to say I have never used batteries in one. I bought the Pignose power supply with this one too.

Any idea how long the batteries last?
Am I write in assuming that batteries last longer at low volume?

I will probably buy batteries for mine when we go on our next trip. So I don’t have to be restricted by where a wall outlet is.
I have a Roland Micro Cube amp for my apartment, and I I will run it on batteries once in awhile, instead of the adapter.
I think I can get 20 hours out of the batteries as I play very quietly
( 6 AA's)

I will be playing quietly on the Pignose too as it will be my vacation amp and will be used in resorts and hotel rooms. I want a Bugera 5 watt amp with the attenuator so I can go down to .5 watts. It’s all tube also.
