Boss pedal LED replacement

I picked up a boss pedal on eBay with a bad LED. I’d return it but I got the CE5 for 50 used and didn’t want to go through the hassle.

What size LED do boss pedals use? Does anyone have a good website to pick them up on?

It's just an ordinary red diffused 3mm LED.

Since you just need one, I'm guessing eBay or similar might be your best bet. Most standard web stores are going to have a limited quantity or minimum purchase amount.

Any diffused 3mm LED will work, if you want a color other than red. IME, yellow diffused tend to be especially dim, though.

Beware that if you try to use one of the 'ultra bright' variety of LEDs that you typically will have to replace the current-limiting resistor with one of a higher value, unless you don't mind it being very to blindingly bright.

Oh, just on a lark, I did look on Amazon, and it looks like you can actually order a single red 3mm LED for a little under $2, with $3 shipping. That's as a non-Prime purchase.
