Clip / remove D6 and D7. That's the only mod I did to mine and it lives on my pedal board. Simply an awesome OD pedal.

hey guys. messing again with my od3. everything is back to stock now. however. i just tried half of the old keeley mod of removing D6 and D7. i just lifted one leg of D6 and its like the c6 mod of the SD1 where there isnt too much compression and liberates sound of the pedal. i remember d6 and d7 are part of the clipping clamp. the stock diodes are 1n400x i believe and some substitute those with 1n4148. so what diodes would have half the "clamping power" of the in4148 that i can put in there? thanks

Hey guys!
I'm using my OD-3 for bass at home but can't bring it live because I think it cuts too much bottom from the bass (opposite from your problems). Now I'm looking at a mod for adding more bass and let the bass come thru more. What circuit (is that what it's called?) (C1, D6 etc) am I supposed to change for more bass?

Hi guys somebody try this and see if you got the same results as mine which more mids but not ts-mid hump: to either of the D6, D7 just lift up one leg and check what happens. its more open kinda like the sd1 C6 mod. please post your findings thanks. (TTBMK my OD3 is back to stock before doing the above mod)

from the keeley od3 mods i found at stompboxzone
The next mod is a simple one as well (catching on to the theme yet?). Remove R14 or put it on a toggle switch. The distortion level increases by a large amount. Not quite your cup of tea? Do you have some oscillations? Well, reduce instead of removing it. Change the resistor value to somewhere between 2.2K and 4.7K. You get about the same effect and the unit will be a bit more stable.

1k makes it like an OCD with good amount of mids

1.6k is like a modern superoverdrive/ts9

all in my opinion

probably what the OP was hearing was the high mids that the od3 was pushing as pointed out by .11Gauge in an old post as compared to the mids the bd2 had.

.11 Gauge: which would be a better mod: changing the D10,D11 to 1n400x or D6,D7 to 1n4148? i understand each set are the 2 gain stages of the od3. thanks for your patience and sharing your kno
