Put my OD-3 back on the board and tried it yesterday. I forgot how good the old Boss can sound. Boosted it a bit with my Dyna Comp and what a smooth and creamy overdriven toan! Yum! I'm expecting a SD-1 in a couple of days that I got in a trade with a TDPRI buddy. These two should be a great compliment for each other. Kinda like Banana puddin' and chicken dressing!

Can't say that I have tried that combination, but sounds interesting...

    in your head man....
SD-1 works great in front of an already overdriven amp. Works great with the JCM800 especially.

Actually wasn't thinking of stacking them, though that will be worth trying. I'm hoping that they can be used separately for two different purposes. OD-3 for the creamy thing, SD-1 for those times when I need more mids. Who knows, stacking might get a fella into Spinal Tap territory!

Oh wait...you meant 'naner puddin' and chicken dressing...those are better layered as opposed to stacked. ;)

Actually, I was talking about banana pudding and chicken dressing...and I am guessing you stack those...

I can't stand even the appearance of banana pudding. That said, I have old Boss pedals that I can't live without.

Chicken dressing is like a compressor. It needs to be first in line.

The SD1 has some serious mid boost and grind with a slight low cut. Sounds great with a driven amp. Good for solo boost on low to medium gain and really tightens up a high gain rig.

The OD3 is smoother with less mid hump and has more bass from what I know. You’ll have to update when you get the SD1 and how it compares. I kind of want a creamy overdrive to compliment my SD1.

I love both pedals to death but never quite dug them together. But YMMV. Great thing about Boss is you can stick them next to each other and switch between them with one stomp if you don’t wanna stack.
