How does the BOSS GT-1 Compare (Soundwise) to the Boss ME series (old and new), and it's big brothers in the GT-Series (old and new).

Just about to buy one......

I have the ME50 and the ME80.....I use to have the gt-8....ME80 kills IMHO. easy to tweak on the fly if need be and pedal based layout. I would like a more in depth reverb tho....

I have the GT-100 and don't use more then 20 patches, yet found it easy to use and going thru one of my Fender Deluxe Reverb amps

I haven't used the GT-1 but I have a GT-3 and GT-5 which I love and I will never get rid of them. They both have analogue drive sections -- the amp modelling is early era 20 bit digital and some of it sounds incredible. I wasn't a fan of the ME-70 and couldn't rid of it quick enough. So only throwing my small part of the picture into into the mix.

Had a GT-3, then upgraded to the GT-6, and now I have the GT-1. I love the GT-1 the most. It is much smaller and lighter. It is more simple to use. It has most of what I need. I like it that I could tweak tones on my PC via USB. Tone wise... I think they're the same. They all use COSM technology.

Hey, @adamlovesgin :)

I've had the Boss GT-1 since it first came out, and I'm extremely happy with it!
The GT-1 does everything I could possibly need and the compact size is great!

I would definitely go for the GT-1 over any of the ME series boards.. They've never really caught my attention much..

Compared to the remaining modellers in the GT series, then the GT-1 and GT-100 are basically the same - minus some features which is only found on the GT-100. For example, Dual amp mode. The preamps and effects in the GT-1 and GT-100 are identical. The GT-1 would be far more superior than some of the earlier GT units - GT-3, 5, 8 and 10.

It really all depends on what you're after - but the GT-1 is an excellent choice, none the less.

I own the GT-10, GT-Pro, GT-100 and GT-1 and I couldn't be happier with all of them. They give me something different all across :)

Let me know if you have further questions - I'll be happy to help out!

Regards,
Kenni.

Well. Saw a GT-1 in the flesh this weekend....

It's absolutely tiny, with the minute switched being far to close together for my hobnailed boots.

.... No longer an option.

Hi Kenni.....do you know how to transfer GT 100 patches (TSL) to the GT 1 without drama? I've tried the JSONedit method and can't do it that way. Not sure if I'm using the right program. I thought it'd be an easy thing to do since they're both the same pedal software wise. Can you post your reply please?
