Decided to play a little this afternoon, nothing much to do. So went with the mustang micro and the Squier upstairs, locked away peacefully. Micro didn't work, so checked the socket, sure enough the ground had come out, in my rush to get the rewire done, I hadn't soldered it, lots of snap, crackle, pop. So, I soldered it up nice and neat.
Then I lost the will to play, as everything I tried after that sounded like I was a beginner with broken fingers. So, I packed up came downstairs, and thought, I'll Mow the lawn... raining FFS. So I give up, and watching a diet of my wife's favourite soap, bloody 'EastEnders'. First world problems GRRRRR!

Aye. Sometimes your hands feel like they belong to someone else. You can't remember simple chord progressions, or lyrics to songs, that you've performed countless times.

This normally happens, as you've pointed out, when there are 200 channels of nothing, on TV.

I usually go for a walk, when this conjunction of dysfunction occurs- and hope not to get hit by debris, from a jet......

Some things on some days are just never meant to be. I try to accept the fickle winds of the greater universe and move onto something else. I'm with @Flaneur, some fresh air and a little exercise work wonders.:)

I'm supposed to be lol. I do 16 hrs per week at a bargain supermarket now lol. My other half refuses to let me sit around. I do go for long walks though like @Flaneur mentioned. Got one dog out of action, but Afie the dog in my avatar, is like Duracell dog, but hates rain. Ah, well tomorrow is another day.

when this happens... take off all your clothes and go down and watch your wife's shows with her...

If needed, start humming the starland vocal band, either you will suddenly be busy or she'll have things to do and you can change the channel.

    yer welcome.

I understand you. Have been working on a fairly simple Eric Johnson scale for over a week, still bobbling it today as if it were Day One of practice. Kinda got pissed off. Left the amp on, though, just in case I want to go back and try again later.

Ah, the joys of retirement. I was an engineering manager in charge of training and compliance. One thing I taught everyone was that you will muck something up, sometimes big time, every once in a while. It doesn’t mean anything more then that. You mucked it up. Step back from it. Do something else for a while. Take an early lunch. Go for coffee. Don’t do something stressful like call your wife. Then, call for help if you need it. Go back to the job when you’re ready and finish it.

Yeah man.... it's days like this when I remember the late, great, Robert Shaw's quote "Well.... I just say home and I drink rum..." ;)

It was the unsoldered wire the started it. Note to self check all connections, although it worked initially.. ...Ho hum.
