This will be my last mix thread for a while as I'm shutting down the second incarnation of the Woodshed and putting my property up for sale. I've been working on this original tune in fits and starts since October and can't decide if I like it or not — it's not polished, but the rough edges have a certain rustic charm. So I'm gonna go ahead and post it since it may be my last finished project for a while.

For the past several months, my life has undergone some convolutions. Out of the blue, I've reconnected with a fine woman I once loved but hadn't seen in almost 50 years  ... her husband died not long after my wife did, one thing led to another and now I'm moving to the mountains with her.

That means setting up the studio yet again in a whole new space, with all the headaches that involves, but also the challenge of new horizons. I gotta admit, it's pretty exciting to be plunging off the deep end at my age! :D

    Wow Woodman,you old fox!

I'm happy forya man and I'm glad life is good!

Love the track,a fine bit of swamp laden guitars and a great tongue in cheek, creative lyric content.

Best wishes for the move and the studio transplant. One thing though...Given your current state of bliss, you are limited to one 'loved up' track every six months,so don't wear it out! ;)

Change is challenging, but it is almost always good. Great to hear that you are hopeful. Hope makes everything better. Maybe you can put together a swampy sounding love song....

Edited to add: I almost forgot to say, the song sounds great. Love the feel of it, and the guitars and vocals sound great.

Hey Woody. Haven't posted here for quite a while but have kept an eye on things. Sad to hear one part of your life has ended but great to hear you have a new beginning. Hope you aren't out of the loop for too long and good luck with the sale and move. Looking forward to hearing new choons with the new muse. Oh yeah, and the latest offering swings.
P.S. Looks like you'll be swinging that hammer for a while yet.

Hey Woodman, good song, I enjoyed that. And good luck with your move and your new romance. My wife and I are thinking about moving back to our hometown in Ohio later this year, but I'm not looking forward to the work involved.

I'm in the process of moving, I will be so glad when it's over.

I love the new house though, its the 250 miles in between that's a PITA.

    Thats awesome news!!!

    Really pleased for you.

Moving a studio sucks though. I have been meaning to build and install my planned new desk this past year or more but am slowly working up to the massive undertaking with re wiring and figuring out the new setup for out board gear and so on.

Many thanks for all the good wishes! Moving the studio today, ugh! But it'll be good to see my sassy gal. ... Pam's a piano player, BTW, so we're already working up some songs together.

When I first started reading your post I was sad and then .. incredibly happy for you. Emotional rollercoaster in 1.5 seconds. My wife has been gone for some time now and I have not been as lucky as you. But I give you my sincerest best wishes. Also hoping you get a studio rigged up in the near future. (Now I need to go back and listen to your tune.)
