Somehow stumbled on this bootleg-ish recording from 1972 of Bonnie Raitt singing Can't Find My Way Home (accompanied by Lowell George). Just listen to it. The music doesn't start until almost 3:00 into the clip, so you might want to skip ahead to then. That woman could snore and it would sound killer. Some people just have it.

Amazing cut. I've seen Bonnie several times over the years but never with John Hammond and Lowell. That is just about as good as it gets. I'll be racing @24 track to buy the album! Thanks for posting.

I found the album on youtube, but I don''t recall where. This was a couple of years ago, but maybe its still there.

Pretty good version, and I like Bonnie...but it just doesn't compare to this. Better groove, better arrangement, better playing, better voice (for the song).

Bonnie's was live not studio , studio versions are always cleaner, but they both rock

I know it was live, and cleanliness has nothing to do with what I think. I named four things that are not cleanliness.

I do like the live Bonnie version, though.

"Rock," neither does.

this is one of those songs that rocked the ages but was never a colossal in your face on the radio every 3 seconds tune, that every one loved , LOVE IT!

It really is flat out one of the best songs of all time. And the original Blind Faith performance is impeccable. But what grabbed me about this Bonnie Raitt version is how spontaneous and unadorned it is. It's just her voice. And it's so gorgeous. Most people have already seen the solo Steve Winwood clip, but for anyone who hasn't here it is:
