I was just wondering, what would be the minimum dimensions for a Telecaster body blank. (length, width and thickness) And BTW, what are the exact measurments for the Tele?

16" X 13" X 1 3/4" MIM. Myself I woulld like have a piece 18" X 14" X 2" to start with.
You might want to search out the drawing by TDowns in this forum.

yeah, I found out this weekend just how imortant the correct dimensions are, I bought a blank tele that had a thru the body design with lots of beautiful inlay work, I was lured to it and could not resist. I also bought a used fender hard case to protect it. guess what it is slightly larger than a standard tele and will not fit. Luckily I have another tele that does not have a case that I made years ago and it fits like a glove, that One I hand made.
I found a tele plan right at Amazon, Not the best plan but all I was after was the body shape. I’m not trying to make a perfect copy most my guitars are one of a kind. The plan is good for your basic measurements. I also bought a strat plan it was vary detailed very good quality I believe it was this sight http://www.mimf.com/

Cavi, sorry to hear that, what a bummer! 
Good thing though, that You had another Tele that needed a case. Maybe your next build project could be a case for that "over sized" Tele.

no, end result I am not abig fan of the oversized tele, it is a thru the body style, I bought it because it is beautiful, but turns out the neck is not to my liking, I will still keep it but it will come out for short appearances only just to look beautiful.
