Bob Wills is still the King, as the song goes. I tend to like many artists from Texas. Mr. Wills put Texas Swing on the map. Bob Wills was very big in his day.

That swing style is still a cool approach to steel. Theres a simplicity to stuff predating all the pedals and levers, where people just had to play and run with it. Leon kinda did in fact kick it off, I suppose.

We often overlook western swing In the big mixing bowl that led to modern music, but it was a popular piece. It seems like its lumped in the past, but theres still parts to pull from it that can be catchy.

Steel players these days tend to play it twice as fast :( I like this tempo, it's good for swing dancers.
