I just found out that Bob Sweet has passed away this last Friday after a long battle with cancer. He was such a big hearted, generous man, and a friend and member here. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends this evening.

    LarryR,
I'm so sorry to hear this... what was his nickname here?

"All mankind is of one author, and is one volume; when one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language; and every chapter must be so translated...As therefore the bell that rings to a sermon, calls not upon the preacher only, but upon the congregation to come: so this bell calls us all: but how much more me, who am brought so near the door by this sickness....No man is an island, entire of itself...any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

I never met Bob personally, but I've traded comments with him at the Musictoyz forum for years, and he always felt like a friend to me. He'd post comments about his longtime love Barbara here and there, and when he finally married her, it was like a celebration for the Toyz gang. I felt like I knew Barb as well. I posted a query about how Jimmy Page recorded the swells on "The Wanton Song", and Bob was the first to chime in with truly practical info.

His vibe pedals have long been considered to be among the very best available. I've played them, and the swirl and movement just kills. He was a gentleman with a large sense of humor and an even bigger heart. He was a very good man.

My sincere condolences to Barbara, and to Bob Sweet's family and friends.
