I'm not a Dylan historian by any means, but I imagine he has a room full of guitars to choose from. Nostalgia can work for anyone.

I think that was at some Willie Nelson charity event. Caught it on CMT or VH1C a few weeks ago.

Bob should have stuck with acoustic folk. All downhill since then.. :)

I saw this show with Willie a couple of years ago on TV. As I recall his guitar did not sound like anything special

As I recall, when he first went electric, it was on a tele. was that the Newport Music Festival?

Dylan had a Strat for his first electric performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965:

He used a Tele on the subsequent tour with the Hawks (later known as The Band-- Robbie Robertson also played a Tele on that tour):

He continued to use Teles almost exclusively for his electric guitars on tour up until the mid-70s, when he started to use Strats. Here's him with a Tele on the Rolling Thunder Review in 1975:

And with a Strat at the Last Waltz with The Band (Robbie Robertson on a Strat this time) in 1976:

Cool pic! Don't know if you noticed but your sig, "Alright, hand over the Tele...and no one gets hurt!" makes a great caption for it. :D

Who's that on drums. I reconize the rest of the "Band" but that don't look like Levon Helm to me.

Cool, Thanks for the info Dude. I see you're in Southern Maryland. I spent 8 years in St. Mary's County from 1989-1997. still know a few folks down there.

It's Mickey Jones.

+1. Levon got tired of being booed everywhere they played and left the tour. Mickey finished it out. He has a documentary out featuring home movies of the tour that he shot. Don't know if it's any good, but I may check it out one of these days.

False.

Levon was actually worried that they may get killed. Remember that Kennedy had just been killed and people were booing the band and rushing the stage.

Scream Judas all you want, Bob has always played folk music, plugged in or not.
