    Hey Everyone!

New poster to the board. I'm looking at buying a used (2 hours total playtime) Blues Jr. in Lacquered Tweed. It's a PR 295, and the serial number starts with B-7*****. The seller is not sure whether or not it's a BJR 3 or 4, and says it has a "gold" speaker in the back, but doesn't know what make the speaker is. anyone here have any idea what I'm buying? Is that the Jensen c12q in the back? a Celestion? Thanks![IMG]

Fender should have the serial# archived. I think If it has a Jensen speaker, it's a special edition.

Do you have a picture of the speaker? The speaker matters, so you want to know what you're getting. In good condition, that amp should sell used for around $400, depending on any variety of factors.

The guy doesn't have a pic of the speaker. Just described it as a "gold" speaker. so I was thinking the Jensen or the Celestion cream back, and he's just calling cream "gold". I know a lot of the lacquered tweeds have the Jensen in them, though. He also doesn't know if it was the III or IV, so he sent that pic of the serial number/type

Thanks for all your help, folks, he just got back to me. It is the Jensen C12. I'm gonna buy it. I bought an Orange CR60 combo, but have wanted a Fender blues tone to go with it for recording. This amp has what I'm looking for, and if I need some variety, I'll buy the Cannabis Rex to mod!

Why would someone sell an amp after only two hours of playtime?

It does make you wonder. It’s like divorcing a spouse after your wedding reception.

Impulse buy, an amp not needed etc. Sometimes we guitaraholics buy things then wonder why for sure. Of course, it could all be BS too!

I have the same amp Bejnay, my speaker is a Jensen c12n.

It's a bright, chimey, complex overtones type speaker.

I really like it for that reason.

I hadn't played my Blues Jr. in a bit and I forgot how much I liked it. It's the tweed covered and Jensen speakered model. I had been contemplating selling it, but I think I'll hang onto it a bit longer now.
