    On the one hand, if you want to bring an extra guitar to play a song the way it's supposed to be played, what's the big deal? A carpenter doesn't always use the same screwdriver to get the job done properly, does he?
    However, I myself would just retune. Over the years I've gotten real quick at it. Practise re-tuning. I'm not kidding here. You'll be surprised at just how quick you can get with a little work.
    I like the action on my tele set to med-high, for playing slide, and also so that I can get my fingers under the strings better for bending.
