& can't get much bluesier than this.
Phil Guy (Buddy's brother)
Little Charlie Baty
Paul Bell (of the Nighthawks)
not exclusively blues, but play some blues extremely well:
Marty Stuart and his man Kenny Vaughan
Outstanding guitarist with a great name - Wolf Mail
Quintessential Tele tone and all around masterpiece by late great Brewer Phillips...
i only saw him once and he did most of the show on a black 335
He’s also been know to play Rickenbackers.
The master of the telecaster
Stevie Ray Vaughn
I think any dedicated guitarist has play a Telecaster at one point
I think Gate played a Rick only briefly in the mid-60s. I think he was more associated with a Gibson Firebird.
Not all the time, but John Mayer plays a 52 Tele for practice... and records with it from time to time.
I suspect that Queen of California is recorded on a tele… that neck pickup sound is soooo sweet
Last guy I've seen here in Valencia. Really enjoyed it, and since then the idea of a Varitone on Tele doesn't get out of my head.
Here's some proof - Sue Foley (the bass player ain't half-steppin either)
Saw JM play it at Tri County Fairgrounds in Paso Robles, CA a couple years back... he did play it on a Strat. I don't think he tours with his precious Tele? Not sure... so if anyone has seen him pull out his Tele on tour, please advise us.
