I see a lot of doodz playing what I have heard descRibed as bro country on tv and in bars and restaurants. IMHO the bro country folks come off as a less clown like because many of them aren’t wearing cowboy hats, nudie suits and the like and seem to just be wearing baseball hats and normal clothes.

I’m willing to bet some of these guys grew up on farms or maybe just rode horses. Maybe some didn’t but by acting normal they come across more genuine even if they’re not. A lot of them probably have riding mowers or something.

oTOH Stevie Ray Schwartz (IIRC from the Zoom ad) was an accountant and I’m guessing has never been a sharecropper, blind or even arrested for shooting his woman or something.

I think I could take blooze music slightly more seriously if it were about the people singing it’s real problems and if they weren’t in a silly costume and did away with the cultural appropriation.

You're apparently looking for real blues music in the wrong place.

I was raised on a farm. We had horses. Prince passed on one night. I found him bloated in the corral.

    Does that qualify as blues?

    Cultural appropriation?

Bill Evans played on Miles Davis’s Kind of Blue. Is jazz another example of cultural appropriation?
Paul Butterfield’s Band was a Jewish lead guitarist, a black drummer and bassist along with a kid from Oklahoma on rhythm and Mark Naftalin on keys.

I'd like to see more nudie suits in all genres of music.

I always wanted a nudie suit like a full decked out One like Porter Wagoner used to wear
I always liked that era of country where you could dress garish and still kick some butt

I occasionally backup (lead guitar, acoustic/electric) a Classic Country singer that has an entire Country wardrobe.

This is no costume for him- the real deal with a ' Johnny Cash' style voice to match!

Cool. What's not to like about a nudie suit.
The only thing cooler is matching nudie suits imo.:)

Never heard of a "nudie suit" before. Was going to Google it, but then thought better of it. Could lead to all kinds of trouble.

He hand tooled that guitar strap!
He also made one similar for me ( as a gift), but it's just not my thing...

The only thing anyone should take from bro country are their microphones and amplifiers.
