I've finished my 6G6B brown faceplate Bassman build. Trying to decide if wheat or oxblood for the grill cloth. I like them both, the oxblood looks kinda classy though. It's a modified 6G6B with a tube rectifier, so what was original doesn't matter much to me.. whatcha think?

I like the Oxblood as a contrast.

Oxblood - no contest. Besides, it goes better with the flat aluminum badge. That is my favorite Fender era look. Have fun

    I voted wheat.

But going convertible is kind of fun. I found a super beat & dirty Yamaha G50 112 in a Goodwill a while back ($25) but the combo had been chopped down into a head. It had grill comprised of a frame w/ teak type material. I made two more frames and with grill cloth I had around the house so I can change it out for black, silver or teak (yuck).

Wheat looks a *lot* more 'real blonde.'

    Wheat!

I clothed my Allen Encore in blond/oxblood. Now it's not a blond-era circuit, so who cares... but in my mind the period-correct color is blond/wheat.
