Hi guys,
I think this will be interesting! I've been wanting to do this for a while now...

I was surprised how close the joyo actually is to the real thing...honestly If someone told me these were both real tube screamers I would have believed it.

Of course built quality and reliability ARE real issues with these cheap pedals but if you're on a budget or just want a backup this is perfect I think.

Let me know which one did you prefer and if you guessed the real one! I prefer the real one but maybe I'm biased (most likely)...I tend to favour the Vintage overdrive for heavier rock though and mainly with humbuckrs

There are timestamps in the description box if you don't want to go through the whole thing!

When you copy a circuit it should sound the same.... or very close. Yes, the Joyo holds up fine with tone.
But for me, that is where the comparison ends. Take these suckers on the road for a year and see which one is better ;).

FWIW, I chose the right one as the real TS...it was pretty clear to me. But I was holding my breath when he revealed which was which... I really didn't want to be wrong :D

I have been gigging with a joyo sweet baby OD for over 3 years. I'm talking well over 100 gigs. No issues. Along with that a joyo trem, but it doesn't get stomped very much. The sweet baby, nearly every solo. I mainly gig thru an EVHIII 50 watt head so i do have the red channel for a backup. I have tried it a few times but its just too grainy. Too over the top for country, even the "rock" country. But yeah they are great pedals. The sweet baby is the most transparent OD i have ever owned.its a clone of the mad proffessor sweet honey. Id love to have one, but i cant justify spending the money. If the sweet baby craps out, $35 and im good to go again

I was hoping for b to be the joyo because I liked it more. But the difference isn't super obvious. The tube screamer just sounds a bit cleaner. Not as in there's not as much drive, but it sounds less dirty, which I like. Honestly though, the joyo sounds awesome for the price.

I have a Daphone Clone, $10 ebay when they hit, also an Arion . The Daphone is very close to the real , the Arion same sound in general , but slightly darker.

I like B because it has more bass, even though it had less volume. I didn't think it sounded more transparent, I thought it sounded less transparent.

I had the Joyo - loved it when I was playing a Bugera V5 and when I briefly played a Blues Cube Hot. But I'm pretty settled on Vox modeling amps these days and, A), they have plenty of drive pedals and/or amp models with plenty of gain and B) they don't really take pedals well, so the Joyo didn't do much. I traded it to Guitar Center, not for the $10 they gave me for it (I paid $30) but for the 10% discount they give you on whatever you buy when you trade something in... Nice little stomp box though...
