I saw/heard Blaze exactly one time, and it was at the Austin Outhouse.
My friend, and wonderful guitarist Boomer Norman was playing with him at the time.
Boomer sadly lost his ability to play guitar a dozen years ago after an operating room stroke.
The show was very memorable, with Blaze’s great songs, and Boomer’s great playing.
    Boomer still plays music.
He plays keyboards with his right hand, as the stroke affected his left side.
    Blaze was killed shortly thereafter.
    RIP, Blaze.

I’ve been learning “Clay Pigeons” recently. He’s a great songwriter.

That Live at the Austin Outhouse release is a good one.

And regarding Clay Pigeons...I can't think of another cover song beside that one that
John Prine ever recorded. John's a guy who doesn't need other songwriters if you know what I mean.

    And Blaze could play.
