Anybody build a blackvibe micro yet? After playing a tone master DR on.5 watts today, I think I’m sold on a 1-watt Blackvibe build. Reality is most of my playing is done in my home studio and I don’t want to damage my hearing, so my amps are always played bone clean. Seems like RobRob has nailed what I really need with his micro designs.

I recently built his micro JCM 800 circuit but unfortunately have not had a go at the Blackvibe yet. They are fun little amps that sound great, but it will lack the low end that a larger amp with bigger tubes and transformers would provide. They do reach a pretty respectable volume for a 1 watt amp but it's still easy to get overdriven sound without disturbing the neighbors. I tried both the 12au7 and 12bh7 power tube and decided on the 12bh7 because it does give the amp a slightly "bigger" feel without adding too much more volume. Rob did a great job on these amps and I highly recommend trying one for yourself.

I've heard from about 10 Blackvibe builders and three or four of them were micros. Most micro builders are pleasantly surprised by the tone.
