Best 85 bucks I ever spent. I got mine when it first came out, and I've flipped through the pages so many times, its about to fall apart...glad to see there still plenty left.

Book is $85, the GAS you get from browsing through it is going to run a lot more.

I figured I want MJT to do. Broadcaster for me. Ya know. Light blondish finish. Tinted worn neck. Figure I'm going to get the book and pick out my dream blackguard.

I'd love to get a copy, but it'd cost around $200 to get one shipped over here.

Me too but the shipping makes it really expensive. I keep an eye on the classifieds hoping for a used copy in Europe but I've only seen one and it sold very quickly.

I'll get a copy one day.

$200? Would it really be that much?

Let's see. The book in its slipcover is 8lbs 5oz. The US Postal Service's website says...International Flat Rate Box (up to 20lbs) $60.

I guess by the time you paid VAT and any import duties you'd probably be close to $200.

Probably the best guitar coffee table book ever. Amazing level of detail and superb photography. And yeah, high GAS factor for sure.

Ghmmmmm. How big is this book? How many pages? What size is she? How much written? Isn't mostly pics or does he really give the love letter thing going with this. I know one thing about this book, that's what the title told me

    Blackguard Book Arrived!!

 My Blackgurad Book just arrived...The thing is huge! First impression is that it is completely awesome, and well worth the price :D Elderly seems like the best price - shipped priority and well packaged... The dust cover is solid, glad it doesn't have a paper dust cover (they usually rip)! I ended up with #2847 - it's cool how they put the serial number on the bridge plate:D For those of you on the fence, I would just do it...you won't be disappointed!

    It's about 12" x 12" x 1 3/4" in its dust cover.

    About 420 pages.

The first 13 pages consist of introductions; one from forum member Redd Volkaert. Then there is a "history" of a few pages for each year followed by detailed descriptions and photos of a number of guitars for that year. There are over 30 guitars detailed in all, from 1950 thru 1954. Then there are about 160 pages really getting into the details and minutiae of everything from jack cups to switch knobs to decals during the Blackguard years.

There is really an excellent mix of very detailed photos and descriptive writing.
