Tele-Meister
My black tele has rosewood, and i wouldn’t have it any other way!
Levi jeans (rivets) have destroyed many guitars, caused the most worming and backrash than any other factors.Maple for me. It's like the patch above the back pocket of a pair of Levi jeans.
I like birdseye rosewood even better
Hey, leave our ton tons out of this!!!Definitely maple or ebony because rosewood is too close than black but not black, and I hate “ton sur ton” ..
Ewwww... red knobsI like maple, and rosewood
And ebony
"Sue the bastards" said a sign in my bosses office.Levi jeans (rivets) have destroyed many guitars, caused the most worming and backrash than any other factors.
"Soundwise... (no, I just won't go there!)" Thank you so much! For me, I see it this way: maple is harder to refret (if and one day that comes). Rosewood is much simpler generally with fewer potential problems.
Wood choice/availability/sustainability-wise.. Even though the flow of EIR has resumed (with the revision of CITES, and all..) for the most part, maple is still one of the most abundant hardwoods out there.
I can appreciate the looks of either -- I'm much more focused on how the guitar plays and sounds.
Soundwise... (no, I just won't go there!)
So, in the end, I am ok with either -- just depends on which way I view things in a given day.
I’ve seen many maple neck acoustics,…usually with rosewood or Ebony fretboardmaple. This would have been a good "poll" thread.
I do have two rosewood necks, I believe they are rosewood necks, they are Gretschs ... I don't think they even make a maple neck guitar, do they?
Off topic a bit and with that said has anyone ever seen a maple neck acoustic?
The original Fender blue print was 1-piece maple neck with a skunk stripe to plug the routed truss rod channel. Leo spec’d them that way purely for economic reasons. Leo envisioned cheap enough replacement necks would replace the need for expensive extensive fret work.I am pretty sure the offering for rosewood versus maple was primarily not (or intentionally at all) intended to be an aesthetic choice. Just sayin’. Not to say that cannot like both, however.
I can think of many colors that look better with maple: Surf Green, Sonic Blue, Aged White and on and on, but darker colors are a maybe, for me.Rosewood all the way.
I can’t think of a combination where I would prefer the look of maple over rosewood.
Maybe a true natural maple finish body.
I meant fretboard. Ever seen an acoustic with a maple fret/neck board...I’ve seen many maple neck acoustics,…usually with rosewood or Ebony fretboard
