This is funny to me. I'm in the process of finishing my parts-esquire and have the same body (w/humbucker route). I'm a big fan of a mint green pg on sunburst, but when I placed one on my current build, it just didn't look right. I also recently owned a Strat that was more of a tobacco burst with mint pg and it looked great. Anyway, I was torn between white and parchment (off/old white) and went with the parchment. Glad I did cuz it looks awesome. I should finish it tomorrow so I'll post pics then

    You're Right About Sb Strats...

....mint green just works really well. 2-tone or 3. I never had sunburst Tele, so I never experimented with the different color combos. I just know that the toilet-seat stuff is my least favorite of all pickguards on Fenders. Any model.

    It Does Have Nice Grain

Believe it or not, its a MIM 70s. Only book matched 2-pc Sunburst Strat I've seen, from Mexico. But, I bought it cheap from a guy on eBay, and just lucked-out. It did look good in the photos, but I have to keep this one.

White or parchment - better contrast on the darker-colored body

Yeah, that would look very good! Tooled leather looks great on sunbursts. Put I guess that is a "country-thing" to do, so black is neutral if you don´t want the country look.
