In short, yes. My understanding is that on the Strat they use a gold version. I like the silver (and the Tele), personally.

That first photo is a good shot, even if some of it is luck.
To me the bridge plate and control plate look like they are floating above the surface a bit. Very cool pic!

And nice guitar. Dont treasure it so much you dont play it a lot though.
    Play it!

    Beautiful.

I liked most things about the necks on the old Elite line - I think these are the same / similar?

    That is a lovely color.

I like it a lot, but if the pickguard matched the bridge plate and control plate, or vice versa, I'd like it even more.

    I agree that's a hot looking guitar!

On a separate note, is the headstock slightly reshaped compared to other teles? It looks a little more bulbous to me... Not bad, just different. Am I seeing things?

Thanks! I'd say that all of it was luck in terms of the photo if there's anything special about it. In terms of playing, I (at least for now) expect this to be my #1 player. Here's to hoping :)

Cheers, mate - we have a nice little spot down here, don't we? Great to hear that you and the missus enjoyed it. Do come back sometime :) - the food alone is worth the trip!

I think you're right about the necks. This is really an evolution (as opposed to revolution), however welcome, from the Elite line I think.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! I knew there was a reason I was staying away from my local music store. Congratulations!

Thanks! Not sure about the case but I have to agree it's pretty kick @ss for anyone that has to fly with their guitar. It has to be available via the Fender Store.

You noticed that too!!! I wasn't going to say anything until someone else weighed in and I knew I wasn't going nuts. So without laying it on top of another Tele, yes - it looks slightly different. One man's opinion? It feels like the changes were made to increase playability at the 1st fret. Complete conjecture on my part, but there you have it.
