Yep.....Hofner controls.....and I replaced the one like this on my Hofner Club with one that has Master Volume, Master Tone, and pickup selector toggle switches. So, I don't want one even for my bass.

Looks like you need to drill four new mounting holes - fail.

My friend has a birthday coming up, I'd like to surprise him by installing this on his Gretsch White Falcon. It's an old guitar from the 60's with marks & scratches, he wouldn't mind! I'm sure his wife can sneak it out of the house and bring it to my garage. Because that's what friends do!!!

I've never held or closely examined a Hofner six-string.....are the two knobs volume and tone?.....or, like the basses, two volumes and then switches for tone controls?

no offence but this unit is from china , I have 2 concerns 1) quality of the parts used, 2) quality of the wire used and the soldering involved, I have lots of asian made guitars and the first thing I do is rewire them and replace all the parts to quality parts

    ...but, but, but....Shiny Appearance!

...which might not make a bad band name...

and also no offence, but that thing is fugly and not worth the time fooling with. IMHO. etc.

...a remodel job on your friend's White Falcon? well then, got to post this:

Not much doubt that it's primarily designed for Hofner-style instruments, but it looks vaguely like the control panel on the old Snakehead Tele prototype.

Yep! Buddy of mine has a Turser knock off Hofner with the same controls on it... He paid 120 bucks for the entire rig including cables, gig bag, a nice little 8" Fender bass amp with it. Amazingly sounds and plays pretty good for a kick around bass.

Somehow looks like it wouldn't be long enough to fit a tele body that's been routed, like it would leave a big control plate butt crack.

It would be kind of interesting if someone made a tele with one.

    btw, this is also interesting.

Like your buddy, I have a knock-off that will be getting the @nojazzhere wiring treatment - Master Volume, Master Tone and mini toggles (or maybe a single 3-way)

At least they're not charging $1.49 for the item and $200.00 for shipping...
