Does anyone have this pedal? Does anyone have a long term review of it? I need a reverb pedal again, but I am a subtle user of reverb. Fender amp spring reverb, with the knob set between 2.5-3 is ALL I need, want and plan to use. That's why I don't want to shell out $200 or so for a high end spring reverb pedal like the Topanga, Wampler, etc. I've had good ones in the past(Mr Black, Lotus Iceverb) and am generally a big proponent of high end pedals, but with reverb, I always wind up feeling like I'm paying for features and tweakability I just don't use.

I had the Biyang Baby Boom compressor years ago and thought(besides the stupid graphics) it was a fine pedal. But it wasnt used hard for years. This reverb will be an "always on" type pedal. I just figured I'd ask about it before throwing away $40-50 if its junk.

A friend and I have had one for years and years now. We like them. Surprisingly quiet and versatile. Mine has been used a lot.

But if you're looking for simple and you don't use much reverb, how about a used mini-HOF from Reverb or fleaBay?

It's a good enough room sounding reverb, and a great deal at that price, but I found nothing "springy" about it. If all you need is subtle reverb and not surf or anything I'd say it's fine.

An original Holy Grail is probably a bit more springy, and has way more cool factor IMO - used, they are between $50 and $80 depending on the condition. Might be hard to find locally though. There's also the newer versions, but meh... I've always wanted the big box original Holy Grail. Okay wait, I think I am posting about me now... sorry! I'll just reiterate that the Biyang is a good enough subtle verb for the price. :D

Yeah, subtle is what I need. I've always had amps with onboard reverb, and that's always been enough for me, and I've never "cranked" it. I don't play surf, or ambient or P&W. I play blues and roots rock. I actually dislike over the top reverb. Example had the Mr Black Deluxe Plus and could barely use it. Kept it below 9 o'clock. And I don't like modulation in my reverb(EQD Dispatch Master).

I have one. Incredibly versatile or just leave it at the setting you like.. reliable, and cheap. Had it about a year. Stays on all the time.

See, I have a Pro quality powered big board for my 66 Super Reverb with all high end stuff, but no tremolo or reverb since th amp has both. I want to build a small, minimalist board for the Dr Z Z28 I just acquired(PT Nano+ probably). Already have a Boss Tremolo and TU3, a One Spot and all the cables and a Fulltone Fat Boost3 for it. Want to buy a minimalist reverb, a Carbon Copy and an OCD for it and be done. Grab and go board.

I can't help you with the reverb, but I have a Biyang Mouse (Rat Clone) that has been a workhorse with no problems. Just thought I'd share my experience with reliability. The HOF Mini would be a good alternative.

I thought the build quality of the Biyang comp was good. I had a TC Corona mini that I didn't like. Felt cheap.

It's gonna either be the Biyang or an EHX Holy Grail Nano. Gonna keep my eye out for a good deal on a used one for a few days

Ordered the Biyang, should have in less than a week. The Holy Grail had a BUNCH of noisiness complaints, and I k ow the Biyang comp was VERY quiet, even more so than the actual Dyna Comp it's a clone of.

I have one an I like it. I have a 5 watt Ampeg am with no reverb and I bought the pedal to use with that amp. So, I have only used it at home. I don't think it's anything special, but it will definitely do the job. it's a pretty versatile pedal, so unless you are a reverb connoisseur it will be fine.

I use reverb the same way you do. I wanted to get the Biyang, but found a deal on a new TC HOF, so went with that instead. Haven't regretted it. I know this isn't what you're asking, but as someone who uses reverb in a similar fashion, I thought you might want to know the HOF works well for that specific purpose. The pre-delay, tone control and room types make it possible to dial in a nice breath of air around the notes, without being obtrusive or overbearing.

Mine was $38.99 eBay shipped. I am confident it'll do what I need it to if not, I'll spend more next time, maybe in a HOF. They show up used fairly often.

You're going to love the Biyang Tri Reverb.

I got one when they first came out (when they were $25 shipped), it's been used "always on" ever since.

One piece of advice: use the "B" setting on the little A/B switch for the 'normal' kind reverb you're talking about. The "A" setting adds a delay or something which IMO makes a a weird swelling sound; the "A" setting might be good for some things as a special effect but I never really got anything I liked from it.

I just ordered another one ($35 shipped on eBay)! I might even get a third.

When testing the new one, I found some new sounds that made me go "hmm!" On the Hall setting, try turning the "Time" all the way up, with the "Blend" around 12 o'clock or less — I was getting an interesting and pleasing chorus type of sound. It brought out some new ideas on the guitar, I got lost for about an hour.

For a significant surf "drip" the Tri Reverb isn't the 'go to' pedal, but for those seeking "drip," in Spring mode (of course) try cranking the "Blend" setting all the way up, with the time less than 12 o'clock (otherwise it gets too muddy).
