Should I pay-pal you the $0.25, or just mail you a quarter?

GBTC is certainly easy (I have some) but there's been a lot of slippage. On April 14, 2021 when bitcoin hit $64,863 (for a split second), GBTC hit a high of $55.77. Today, with bitcoin right in the same ballpark (a little higher, even), GBTC only hit $52.68. So, there's a loss of about 6% versus what you had on the first spike. I don't know all the mechanics of it but a complaint I've heard is that GBTC is worth noticeably less than the underlying asset value. With competitors to GBTC coming online I worry a little about whether it'll lose even more traction. I read that Greyscale is trying to convert GBTC to an ETF, which might help with that (?).

Through Schwab I have some GBTC and MARA - less than 2% of my stash. Sold some recently at a modest profit - and have a sell limit in both to do so with a portion again at a decent price. We shall see. I am a buy and hold guy - this is more akin to gambling/speculation and so I am being careful.

I guess they should have spelled that, "willing to risk" it. Ask any gambler whether they're willing to just lose.

    Just modern era pyramid schemes.

At some point, they will all be made illegal and worthless.

I knew what you meant. I lived in Vegas when I was a young man, there are two kinds of people there. Losers, and the guys countin' the money at the end of the shift. I don't gamble. I wager a little on the golf course, but there you have a chance of winning. At the tables not so much.

    Its a ponzi scheme.
You'd be better off learning to build a trebuchet or harvesting hydrogen from urine - the zombie apocalypse is only round the corner..

I like sitting in a pile of gold, scooping it up again and again and letting it slip through my fingers, crooning "Gold, gold." Already have a U-Haul lined up for my funeral. In fact, I AM taking it with me.
