I recently sold a very nice LP traditional...sounded good...too heavy...reminded me why I sold other LP standards over the years...and one of the reasons I have come to like strats and teles.
I had a 2008 sunburst BJA lp a few years back and let it go...after a while I missed having a light weight simple guitar so started hunting for a replacement.
I just got this one; a 2008 model with the strip tuners and the h90...hmm...I replaced that pickup in the other BJA I had almost immediately. people have talked about the "slim" neck profile...but both were "clubby" compared to my old 63 SG Jr ! at any rate..the guy selling this had not looked after the guitar well....volume knob was spinning...tail strap pin replacement had cracked the finish...a number of other finish cracks etc etc... the strings were on the tuning pegs ad hoc and backwards... some minor stuff...in general playability and intonation were surprisingly good.
here are a few shots.... One concern: not sure if this was peculiar to the ivory finish with ebony board on this model: significant finish cracking along the sides of the fingerboard...any comments or concerns or suggestions regarding fixing this up. the price was very good and it included the silly leopard skin case! :) fingerboard.jpg bja lpjr.jpg

    Wow, nice!

Not really a fan of BJA but would be a fan of that LPJr, for sure.

    YES...Nice catch.

I couln't find one of these anywhere in London UK to try, so I eventually gritted my teeth splashed more for a Custom Shop '57 Reisue (lovely.... and to go along with my 2004 standard LPJ set up for slide) . Also not a fan of BJA particularly but nice taste in guitars.

I am sure a luthier type can advise ew the cracking. My guess is beign kept in poor conditions / temperature change. no guide som TLC will arrest any attrition.

    I love those cases!
Those look like great guitars to me - I've never played one - but I'd plug that straight into a JCM800 and Go To TOWN!

That's a really good looking guitar! I love Juniors. All that I've played had the fat neck too. Crank it up!

    David?

Darren here, I think I bought that BJA Jr from you a few years back. I made a few changes to it and she's a keeper. Gets played all the time...

Not a lot of the BJA's come up for sale around here in fact I see "wanted" requests for them all the time. Nothing to do with Billy, I'm sure ( lol ), they are just a great way to get close to a real '50's Jr. Enjoy yours!

And Traynors, still time to start your collection as we live in the Land-of-Traynor here...

I owned one in a last-ditch effort to get on with a 1-pickup guitar.
Beautiful guitar...if it had 2 P90s, I's still have it.
It was as good as any fancy VOS, or whatever, I've played.
    And the case!
    Worth the price of admission.

Nice guitar. I always wanted to buy the white one and then turn it into a real painting canvas. That gets played at gigs.
