He was always patient and generous with his knowledge, and will be missed.

Incredibly sad to hear this. My Bill M modded Blues Jr is great. Bill was very knowledgeable and kind. I just lost my cousin over the weekend to a glioblastoma multiforme like Bill was fighting. Lost my uncle that way as well. It's a terrible, terrible disease for which there is no cure. He fought the good fight very courageously. Rest in peace, Bill.

Wow, sad news to say the least. What a great guy may you RIP. Condolences to family and friends.

I too had checked his site from time to time, have a Blues Jr uncompleted on the bench for quite some time with a couple issues and hoped for him to be back.

Damn.... I had no idea about his PC magazine contributions, or how sick BillM was. What a life, RIP Bill!

I own, by far, the absolute best Blues Jr III in all of Texas. I shipped my chassis to BillM back in 2011, he added pretty much every mod possible... 6V6 tubes, presence knob, tone stack, upgraded transformer and so much more. I then swapped out to the limited edition brown leather cabinet, a JBL speaker, Belton reverb, Weber beam blocker, NOS tubes, tilt back legs, custom cover and more.

I often take my Blues Jr to the open mic which I host here in Houston, it floors people every time when they plug in, they can't believe how good it sounds. Thanks BillM! Very much appreciated... My Blues Jr is very priceless to me, there can never be another like it. RIP.

Sorry to hear this. Bill seemed like a really sweet guy, and was always willing to share anything he knew at the drop of a hat. Totally unselfish team player. The world could use more folks like BillM. RIP.

    Sorry to hear this. Peace

When I bought my Excelsior, I thought it sounded pretty good, but....of course, searched for mods.
I found BillM and read all he had to say about the Exy. He seemed to like it too and didn't think it needed much. I bought and installed the tone mod, which was great and simple.
He was honest in that he could have bagged up a big $$ kit and we all would have bought it. Great man.

RIP BillM. Sorry to hear this, my condolences to his family. I knew of Bill by his association with PC Magazine before I found out about his Blues Jr. mods. When I had one I emailed some guy with the same name about doing the mods and asked him if he was THE Bill Machrone from the magazine. He seemed rather amused by my question and was very helpful. Very talented man.
