    Yea,big,heavy,& expensive.
    Like a nice touring motorcycle.
    I just want to try something different.
    I have the other size amps.
    Some cathode bias,some fixed,all but one push-pull.
    The latest thinking is an amp head that will run either:
    3 x 6v6's
    2 x 6l6's
    1 x KT88
    If that doesn't happen then the next smaller is:
    2 x 6v6's
    1 x 6l6
    1 x KT 66 77 maybe 88 & 90

    Changed the plan.
    Gonna go with 3 x KT's.
    I one position I will run 2 x 6L6 or KT66 or KT77.
    In the other position I will run one KT88,90, or 120.
    So far this is the transformer.
    PT = 600v CT at 180ma, 6.3v at 4a
    OT = 1250 / 8, 4, 25W, 150ma
    I'm looking for whoever makes the best octal sockets.
    High voltage and high current.

    Don't look at the numbers on either side, look at the ratio of the two.

    That transformer can be wired 5000 to 16

    Which is equivalent to 1250 to 4.

    You could probably still run it with an 8 ohm speaker load as well, but at some loss of peak power output.

    See above post.
    Different tranny now.
    Heyboer is willing to make anything I want.
    Cheaper than Hammond,more expensive than Edcor.
    I'm looking for the finest sockets for KT120.
    Lotsa HEAT & Voltage.
