I have a Keeley modded Blues Driver that would be perfect for you.

I have no idea how to sell anything on this site. Let me know if you're interested in it and maybe we can do a deal on some other venue? I'm not a store. I used this in my home only.

People tell me the DS-1 and DOD 250 are the same too but I don't think so.

Yeah, those don’t sound anything alike, either.

I don't have any experience with the Roland amps, but if you're running an OD into a clean amp you're looking forward to dissatisfaction with a lot of really good pedals. If you try them into an amp that's already overdriving a bit, a lot more pedals will start sounding better to you. In that case try the Red Llama and a Blues Breaker type - not the same as a Blues Driver. They call he Blues Driver the original 'transparent drive" and who knows. The DOD 250 likes an amp near or into overdrive and the earthquaker Gray Channel is the ultimate version of it.

I've never tried a Blues Driver, but absolute hate (!) TS. For ~$35 you can get the Caline Pure Sky OD. I've also never tried a Timmy, but from what I've read this is supposed to be in the Timmy family.

Mooer Blues Crab — it’s their Bluesbreaker v1 clone.

The Nobels ODR-1 is a great recommendation, but if you find a Tubescreamer sounds a bit too "fat" though your amp, the ODR-1 might, too. If getting an ODR-1, maybe consider the latest version of the full-size pedal (ODR-1 BC) with a bass cut switch. Wampler's new Belle is very similar to a Nobels but with a much smaller footprint and greater bass flexibility.

I use a Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive, which also has a clean channel you can add to the mix. Mine has a Monte Alums mod kit, which made a great pedal even better. Another sleeper is the VHT V-Drive, which gives you a number of tonal options, but my cat pissed on it.

Actually, the Crayon is mostly copying the Xotic BB Pre.

Yeah, the Daddy-O copies the old Marshall Guv'nor, so if someone finds those passive T/M/B controls to work for their purposes, that's a contender.

I used this over the weekend- the OD side is a Caline Orange Burst ( BB Clone) + a separate and independent Boost ( with a Volume knob)
Pretty cool! Nice drive and clean sustain
Going into a little clean SS Fender amp, it was never very distorted. And
adding the Boost to the OD was really a pure volume boost

Could be. I’ve seen both claimed, but I don’t know much about the Xotic BB Pre - is it Timmy-ish? The Crayon sounds like every description of the Timmy that I’ve ever heard and it works for me :). But I can’t compare it to either the Xotic or the Timmy from personal experience.

Unbelievably enough, the Dano Fab Metal sounds really nice around the 30% or so zone.. considering it costs nothing I checked it out and obviously it's crazy metal but there's something decent hiding in there

Try the Xotic BB MB, the one with the trim pot for the mids.

I apologize if this was already mentioned:
Have you tried a Boss Waza Craft Super Overdrive? I have noticed the fizzy aspect of the Blues Driver you mentioned, too. I have not noticed that effect with the Super Overdrive and quite like it. Cheers!
