To a pedal that does not have one. Why would a certain devive have a vol control that does not first click on clockwise anyhow? Would this mod be best done here or where dc comes in?
    What is the parts list?
This is an issue with several devices, today.

I suppose it comes down to room, the value of the pot, and whether it is available in the switching configuration you desire. most I'm familiar with are 24mm pots for amps that have a spst switching where you turn it clockwise to engage the switch followed by the sweep range of the pot or pull out to engage a bright cap etc ...

switch the dc if you want the device powered off when not in service, switch the signal if you just want to turn off the sound. its your call, you've got to figure out what you are trying to accomplish...

I was hoping I could have a click on volume, or a button on the pedal past the dc in, lest it kill other devices wanted on

So, basically just a stomp switch. What pedal?

Beat buddy. I just don't see why the vol doesn't click on and off, even a mini switch would help.
The start/fill/stop button leaves the unit powered.

I'm lost. Are you talking about the battery or bypass? Most pedals cut the battery out of the circuit when you unplug the input.

All of the pedals I’ve looked at switch power on when the input jack is plugged in. The input jack switches ground and provides the ground to the circuit when the jack isn plugged in. The stomp switch simply switches the effect in and out.

    How about something like this:

The only issue will be that once the pedal is off it wont pass signal. For that you could use a true bypass pedal to take it in and out of your signal chain.
