Man, I must be getting old. When I composed this thread, I originally had 'according to Reverb'. Right after I posted, I had the URL up in another window and it clearly stated it was from Guitar World. So I panicked and changed the thread title to 'according to Guitar World'. Now I realize where I got the Reverb connection in the first place, LOL. Technically the thread title is a tad misleading, apologies for that.

So, this is a list of the 'top' 20 amps that people are selling on Reverb because they don't want them any more?
Reverb constantly inform us that the Soul Food overdrive is one of the most popular on the planet as there are always dozens of used ones for sale on Reverb. Isn't this reverse logic?

Well I know nothing about most of those amps so can't really comment, other than that I would have expected to see some Roland Cubes on there, they seem to be really popular for a long time.

I don't believe those #'s mean anything.
Think of all of the people under 25 who are buying their 1st or 2nd amp. They're not going to go out and buy a Deluxe Reverb. They're going to go out and buy a digital amp with bells and whistles they need to sound like somebody else. Then think about the people over 40 or 50 who mostly have acquired amps they like or know what they want. Of course there's going to be crossover because even us old guys like variety too.

Fender TM Deluxe Reverb? In my mind, the Fender TM Super Reverb has made the TM DR obsolete. Everything I can get from the TM DR, I can get from the Super. In a better package, 4x10 vs 1x12. Only 10 lbs more. 22 watts, or 45 watts for playing out? Yes, please!

I'm shocked that just under half of the amps on that list in 9 out of 20 I know are tube amps. Guess all that talk of tube amps being dead is just that talk huh?

Not necessarily. the PRS MT 15 for example is a very hard amp to find in a local store to buy around here as the sell as soon as they hit the floor and for a while many on line vendors have also having trouble keeping up with demand. However there were always a bunch of them new up for sale on Reverb. A very large portion of the sales on Reverb are new items from on line shops not used so that logic doesn't fly.

"Most Popular" is spelled, what-Mom-and-Dad-will buy-for-me. Blatantly missing are the cheap Marshalls.

I do not believe the SV20H outsells the Origin20C.

And they wonder why nobody reads, anymore.
