I'm new to satellite radio, enjoying Sirius for two days now, and I'm impressed by the magnitude of the programming. Not all of the programming inspires me, but I'm really enjoying Sirius Soul Town "Classic Soul and Motown from the 60's and 70's." Whoever programs that channel is doing a great job.

Johnny Bristol's "Hang on in There Baby", The Main Ingredient's "Just Don't Want to be Lonely" & Wilson Pickett's "634-5789" all during my short ride in the car. Nice.

    What's your favorite satellite channel?

Soultown is great (except for the smattering of disco--too many bad memories of junior high and a white 3-piece suit). Outlaw Country (channel 63) is probably my overall favorite; I'm a big fan of the Rig Rocker, especially his Hammer Down Radio show that plays nothing but trucking music for an hour every weekday afternoon. I could really do without Mojo Nixon, though. I thought he was kind of funny when I was in college and had some of his records, but his schtick (essentially based on Andy Griffith's character in my favorite movie "A Face in the Crowd") has not changed in a looooong time. As an extra bonus, he has an extremely, gratuitously foul mouth (kind of like a 13 year old boy who's really just learned to cuss so he does it all the time). It renders listening to his program impossible when my child is around.
But the Rig Rocker is great. So is the Cowboy Jack Clement show.
The Bluegrass Channel has some great programming, especially Del McCoury's show.
And Pat St. John knows his classic rock on channel 16.

Most anything will do...the programmer is stellar on most all of the stations.

74 Blues on both Sirius and XM

XM72 Beyond Jazz is the only fusion channel I have come across. Generally pretty cool stuff, especially when they play exclusive live stuff like Scofield or Return to Forever.

XM40 Deep Tracks plays a lot of lesser known AOR tracks from the 60s and 70s. Expect to hear a lot of Traffic, Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Deep Purple, etc.

Yeah, it's true. I'm surprised at how much I've been enjoying the service this week. Thanks to the favorites listed on this thread I've been checking out Buzzsaw and Outlaw Country, but mostly I'm jumping between Classic Vinyl, Vault, Soul Town, Blues and Garage.

Vin Scelsa's Idiot's Delight show on Sirius Disorder (33). I think his show is on Thursday's but I listen to the replay on Sunday evening. Kind of reminds me of FM radio, such as KSAN out of San Francisco, in the 70's.
