Craigslist? eBay? What?
2. The Gear Page (thegearpage.net)
TGP is just another guitar forum (not that anything is on par with TDPRI, of course), but they get a lot of eyeballs, and they have a very active buy and sell area.
A few of my buddies who buy/sell/trade a lot of gear have pretty much moved over to reverb exclusively for deals done outside of their playing circle.
3: Print ads in an old-timey newspaper with poor circulation
I'm fed up with shipping, so I mostly do Craigslist. When I get fed up with that I'll trade it in to a local store. Trading convenience for a lower price isn't cheap. .
Gumtree is ok and free unless you have the positional ugrades. Good for buying too, in my experience.
Depends on what I'm selling. Something that's easily shipped like a pedal: I list on craigslist for two weeks, then it's to ebay. For a guitar, it's craigslist. If it doesn't sell after 2 weeks, I lower the price, then I lower price every two weeks until it sells.
